The LL.M. (Professional) Programme is a specialized educational offering designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities of senior-level professionals and executives in various fields. It is designed to cater to individuals who are already established in their careers and seek to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving economic and social landscape.

Specialized Legal Knowledge: Providing participants with advanced and specialized knowledge in specific areas of law, enabling them to deepen their understanding and expertise in selected legal domains.

Global Legal Perspectives: Developing participants' understanding of international legal frameworks, cross-border transactions, and global legal issues, enabling them to effectively navigate international regulatory landscapes and engage with matters with global implications.

Leadership in Legal Practice: Developing specific legal skills and competencies to empower participants to engage in strategic planning, effective communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and guide their organizations through legal challenges.

Legal Risk Management: Equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks faced by organizations, thereby minimizing potential legal liabilities and protecting their clients' interests.

Continuing Educational & Professional Development: Providing a platform for continuous learning and professional growth, facilitating access to resources and industry experts to support ongoing development and career progression in the legal field.

The LL.M (Professional) is a Diploma Programme conducted through a mixed mode of distance education and contact learning. The Programme will be for a period of one academic year, spread over two semesters. This programme is not equivalent to LL.M Course as recognized by UGC/Bar Council of India. The academic year will run from August to June. Contact classes will be held at NLU Delhi.

Candidates enrolled in the programme will have to successfully complete eight papers. There shall be four core papers in Semester I and one optional/specialization papers in Semester II.

• Basic Introduction to the Law and Legal System
• Constitutional Law: An Introduction
• Fundamentals of Law (Criminal, Commercial and Civil)
• Litigation Practicum

Each specialization carries four subjects. The following specializations are being offered:

• Criminal Law
• Banking and Finance Studies
• Intellectual Property Law
• Commercial Law
• Environmental Law and Justice
• Consumer Law and Practice
• Health Law and Policy
• Taxation Law

(Note: Specializations will be offered only upon minimum subscription as determined by the University. The University also reserves the right to introduce or withdraw any specialization)

Examination will be conducted at the end of each semester. Each Paper shall carry a maximum of 100 Marks which will include marks obtained in assignments and end-semester examination. It will be mandatory for the students to complete all assignments and appear in the examination.

Every student shall be required to secure a minimum of 75% of attendance in every course to be eligible to appear for the end semester examination.

A person who has completed his/her graduation/post-graduation, in any discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks and has been in service, or has had professional experience of at least three years will be eligible to enroll for the programme.

The students currently enrolled in the LL.M., Ph.D. or any other programme at NLU Delhi shall not be eligible to apply for the LL.M. (Professional) Programme.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of percentage secured in their graduation. All the applicants, who are found eligible, will be admitted to the programme.

The tuition fees for the programme for Indian Nationals shall be Rs. 1,25,000 [One Lakh, Twenty-Five Thousand only]. For foreign nationals, the amount shall be USD 3500 [Three Thousand Five Hundred only]. Additional fees shall be charged for re-registration, repeat exams, etc.
